Q: How much does it cost? What's the catch?
A: EpicU is a free programming trade school (it will always be free to students and is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization). The catch is that we don't coddle so if you're not up to the task of learning, we aren't up to the task of teaching you.
Q: How long is the program and how much time will it take?
A: The program is 1 year. The first 3 months are full-time classroom based learning. The next 9 months are a full-time, paid apprenticeship at one of our Dallas-based partner companies.
Q: Where are the classes held?
A: Classes are held in Dallas where the 183 and 35E Highways meet.
Q: What are the chances of getting in and how often can I apply?
A: A new class of 20-30 students will start every quarter.
Q: When does the next class start?
A: The next class starts the first week of September, 2016.
Q: Do I need good grades, test scores, recommendations or to prove need?
A: This is a merit-based program. No consideration is given based on need. Students will be expected to complete all assignments to a high standard. Only your application and interview will determine your eligibility.
Q: What will happen if I complete the program after 1 year?
A: Graduates can expect to be Junior Developers by the end of the program.
Q: No seriously, what's the catch?
A: Alumni will be asked (but not required) to give back to future students by teaching or mentoring.
Q: What if I don't have a high school diploma?
A: Students must be over 18 OR have a high school diploma.
Q: I've never tried programming. What are my chances of getting in?
A: No prior programming experience is required or expected.
